Abstract/Contents:Quoting from Mr. P. L. Gile of the United States Department of Agriculture, the effects that fertilizers have upon the soil are far greater than had been previously acknowledged. The fine clay material in the soil reacts with the fertilizers, retaining more of one componant than another. This proves to be one reason why changing fertilizer material periodically can be a great boon to the overall health of the grasses, as only some of their needed nutrients will be retained in the soil.
