Abstract/Contents: | Traces the development of golf courses from the perspective of a player, concerning issues such as construction and placement of greens and bunkers, the golf ball itself, the development of which led to the intense research into golf greens now encountered, earthworm control, fertilization from the time of heavy liming to the sulphate of ammonia use of today (1929), and the emergence of turf diseases. In conclusion the author stresses the importance of the player cooperating with the greenkeeper to attain a better quality of playing. |
