Abstract/Contents:Discusses the apparent ineffectiveness of the mercuric based fungicides against the outbreak of brown patch in the past year (1928). The author states that this might well not have been the fungicide itself, but rather the improper application that was the cause of its lack of effect. Greenkeepers tended to overuse both fungicide and fertilizer, upsetting any balance and unwittingly damaging the turf far more than the disease alone would have been capable of accomplishing.
