Abstract/Contents: | Describes the features of leaf spot and foot rot. The former, although wide spread, is rarely fatal to the grasses, whileas the foot rot is very damaging. In foot rot, the base of the leaf deteriorates, killing the leaf, and ultimately the plant itself. The outbreaks of this foot rot are linked to the repeated close mowings that the bluegrass was subject to. It is recommended that Kentucky bluegrass be allowed to grow more when the disease first manifests itself. |
