Abstract/Contents: | Although Bermuda grass has proven to be the best grass for the low mowing and intense play of golf greens, it being a warm season turfgrass, it is highly susceptible to damage during the winter, with up to 95% of the surface being killed off. The author describes the practice of planting alternate greens for use during the winter months, and tells of the use of a pine tree needles cover that is used to protect the Bermuda grass with outstanding success. |
