Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the large and small brown patch problems in St. Louis and the various mixtures and applications of fungicides tried out to best combat the disease. Calomel has proven to be the most effective, more so than corrosive sublimate or Semesan. Extreme care must be taken when applying these chemicals, as any error or spillage can be fatal to the turf. However, even the most carefully executed application can still prove futile if the weather conditions are optimal for brown patch. |
