| Abstract/Contents: | Briefly discusses an experiment with a polyethylene net (Polyäthylennetz) employed as a short term means of giving a turf surface extra durability. Fifty days after a reseeding, the grass surface was mowed to a height of 2.0 - 2.5 cm and the net was laid over it. 15 days later it was already hardly visible and 130 days after the reseeding, the turf was ready for use. Afterwards, the net was removed and sprayed with water, ready for subsequent uses. This method seems to be highly ammenable to turfgrasses, although further experiments in more diverse temperatures and climates are still needed. |
