Abstract/Contents:Draws attention to some of the immense damage rendered by two hurricanes by quoting reports from the greenkeepers of four different courses. From these sources, the following steps are deemed as essential to perform after a hurricane: removing the silt, sand or soil from the turf as soon as possible, water the turf immediately to wash off salt water, aerate the soil, vertical mow any algae, apply gipsum, fertilize the affected areas, introduce salt tolerant strains in areas of most common flooding, and improve the drainage.
