Abstract/Contents:Discusses the advantages of aeration to almost all managements of turf maintenance. Effects include reducing disease; conserving water, fertilizer, and seed; increasing root penetration; assisting air movement in the soil; reducing thatch; overcoming compaction; aiding renovation; and providing more satisfactory playing conditions. Also makes fertilizers and insecticides more effective.
