Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the contributions of E. J. Marshall and W. J. Rockefeller to the eventual forming of the USGA Green section by their trying to get their golf course, the Inverness Club in Toledo ready for the US Open championship. Their seeking and accumulating information pertaining to turf subjects and issues, as well as their starting the Bulletin of the Green Section of the United States Golf Association form the root of all modern golf course keeping, a tradition carried on at Inverness as the course gets itself ready for the 1957 championship as well. |
