Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the process of transplanting trees. Suggests transplanting trees while the ground is frozen to avoid root damage. At least one season prior to transplanting, the roots should be pruned and fertilized well. Recommends when the tree is placed in its new hole, it should be filled with black dirt and watered often. States that American elms are the most successful transplants, while beech trees are the least successful. |
