Abstract/Contents: | Details specific methods involved in the harvesting of Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) seed. Believed to have been introduced into Kentucky in the 18th century, bluegrass seed is grown primarily for pasture. Comb stripping and automatic stripping are the two primary methods for harvesting the seed. After harvesting, the seed is cured for two to four weeks before cleaning and then is sold at market. |
