Abstract/Contents: | Describes the production of carpet grass (Axonopus compressus)--a compact, dense sod that withstands grazing and crowding of other grasses. Ideal for pastures, it is found in the Gulf coast states and northern South America. The grass is cut short, allowed to go to seed, and then cut again. The clippings are collected, dried, and threshed. |
