Abstract/Contents:Discusses the importance of good drainage and soil aeration for healthy grass to avoid problems like compaction and stimulate deep root systems. A tile system 8 to 12 inches below the soil is recommended. Other methods include skillful watering; regular forking or perforation to improve aeration; and careful fertilizing, mowing, and topdressing.
