| Abstract/Contents: | Relates findings from a five-year study conducted at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, to "determine the effectiveness of selected preemergence herbicides applied singularly and in combination (follow-up) treatments in controlling large crabgrass (Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop.) and goosegrass (Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn.) in a bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds. 'Penncross') green." The study also evaluated herbicide phytoxicity to the bentgrass and effectiveness of soil/herbicide residue in weed control. Includes details on methods and materials used and tables specifying cultivars, herbicides used, application rates and dates and stand density results. |
