Abstract/Contents: | The recent dry season of 1957 resulted in pronounced insect activity, particularly in the Oscinella frit. Having been first reported in the United States in 1889, it is commonly observed in dense turf areas and the damage it renders to young shoots of turf is commonly mistaken for that of a Hessian fly. A diagram of an adult is given and a detailed description of the larvae provide identification tools and DDT is the recommended control. |
