Abstract/Contents:Defining renovation and reconstruction in turfgrass terms, the possible reasons for undertaking such projects are discussed. These reasons include the desire to improve the playing conditions, to reduce the maintenance costs, to make adjustments due to the increased use of the course, to repair a fundamental fault in the course there from faulty construction or age, and, lastly, to increase pride in the course membership. The presence of trees can be yet another reason necessitating renovation.
