Abstract/Contents:Describes the habit of the chinch bug. The browning of grass in spots is the first clue to chinch bugs. Early symptons are often mistaken for drought injury or sun scald. Heavy rains are the bugs' greatest enemy. Tobacco dust and nicotine sulfate are recommended substitutes as a method of control since rotenone products are restricted due to the war effort. Application rates are given.
