| Abstract/Contents: | "Two experiments were conducted in 1994 to evaluate the control of selected herbicides and herbicides combinations for the control of smooth crabgrass. The treatments in both experiments were identical, but in one experiment they were administered prior to crabgrass tillering and the other after tillering had begun. Due to rapid warming and excellent growing coditions the experiments were initiated only 14 days apart (6/22 and 7/6 respectively). Treatments that provided acceptable control (85%) in both experiments were fenoxaprop 1 EC at 0.2 and 0.35 lbs ai/A, fenoxaprop 1 EC at0.1 lbs ai/A plus pendimethalin at 1.5 lbs ai/A, fenoxaprop 1 EC at 0.2 lbs ai/A plus pendimethalin at 1.5 lbs ai/A. a premix of fenoxaprop and pendimethalin (3.09 EC) in unknown quantities at the 3.08 and 4.12 lbs ai/A rates. MSMA applied at 2 lbs ai/A (twice at 14 day interval) provided acceptable control when applied at the tillering stagem, but not at the earlier application timing. Dithiopyr 0.25G also provided acceptable control at 0.5 lbs ai/A at the second application timing." |
