Abstract/Contents:Discusses the positive aspects of golf courses in the environment such as erosion control, surface water protection and groundwater recharge, biodegradation of organic chemicals, soil restoration and improvement, heat dissipation and temperature moderation, noise abatement and glare reduction, favorable wildlife habitat, and recreational and aesthetic benefits. Also covers the fact that golf courses reduce nuisance pests such as rodent mosquitoes, ticks and chiggers.
