Abstract/Contents: | "Organizations representing disabled golfers, general accessibility for disabled persons, clubs, superintendents, architects, owners, and club and teaching professionals formulated a set of recommended accessibility guidelines and presented them to the Federal Access Board. The list of course-related recommendations includes: Parking near bag drops and other entries to the golf course, rather than only to the clubhouse; On-course restrooms that comply with current guidelines; At least one tee on each hole; Access from existing cart paths, where feasible, to fairways at 75-yard intervals; At least one access point to each green, unless safety, terrain, or environmental issues make this architecturally impractical; access to weather shelters." |
