Abstract/Contents: | "Grass pavers were developed to provide a grass surface capable of surviving vehicular traffic and became popular in this country because they could be used in place of asphalt or other paving materials for fire lanes...They can support the heavy load of fire trucks or any other vehicle for that matter, by transferring the weight from the surface to the subsurface grid. The grid pattern can be lattice configured or castellated, which is the pattern that is formed when the concrete is cast in place in a continuous shape. Typically, the grass is planted in holes of the lattice." |
