Abstract/Contents: | "If you were to inspect the soil moisture on a typical irrigated slope, you would most likely find the top very dry and the bottom very wet. Another problem you would encounter is lack of information on slope irrigation. Several procedures relating to slope irrigation design still seem to be executed on trial-and-error bases[basis], resulting in, among other things, incorrect sprinkler selection, improper lateral line placement and poor zoning and scheduling. However, the reason for these design errors can all be traced to lack of information. Two major factors come into play with slope irrigation - low head drainage and elevation changes that impact hydraulics." Discusses these two factors. |
