| Abstract/Contents: | "Through a combination of university research and hands-on experience on interstate roads, the Florida Department of Transportation is getting closer to large scale use of organic products." Discusses the research by the Environmental Management Office of the Department of Transportation to find better ways to utilize commercially produced compost. The four objectives of this research project included: a literature search on how composted material is utilized; soil investigation; testing of materials' ability to assist in establishing grass on roadsides; and developing materials for educating and training personnel. |
