| Abstract/Contents: | "Management of mosquito populations--modern mosquito control--involves integration of a variety of methods to achieve the single end of preventing mosquito bites, and can be done in an environmentally-acceptable manner through the use of physical methods, biological controls, and appropriate and judicious application of insecticides. A knowledge of the different kinds of mosquitos in Michigan, and their life histories and biology, is essential if they are to be managed effectively using the integrated pest management philosophy. The purpose of this article is to provide basic facts about biology and control of pest mosquitos in Michigan." |
