Abstract/Contents: | "The National Fine Fescue test was established to evaluate the adaption of the commercial cultivars. The National Fine Fescue Test was planted in September of 1993. The trial consists of 59 cultivars planted at 6 lbs/1000 sq. ft. rate. The trial was planted in completely randomized block design with 3 replications. Plot coverage, measured as a form of percent plot fill, was taken in mid June. Color and Quality ratings were taken monthly throughout the summer. Seeding emergence and plot establishment were excellent in the fall of 1993. All cultivars survived the winter with good stands. Overall cultivar performance was very good in 1994 with mean color and quality ratings of 7.8 and 5.5 respectively." Lists commercially available cultivars that exhibited better quality. |
