| Abstract/Contents: | "The objective of this project was to develop buffalograsses for golf courses that would require less water and fertilizer than currently available turfgrasses...Objectives of the breeding and development project include improving quality, tolerance to wear and low mowing, insect resistance and seedling vigor...The experimental design of these seven trials was a randomized complete block with three replications...The trials were evaluated for quality throughout the growing season using a 1-9 scale." The results provided cover 1990 and 1991 progeny evaluation, 1990 low mowing tolerance evaluation, 1991 national buffalograss trial, 1992 improved seeded plot evaluation, 1993 turf evaluation trial, and 1994 turf evaluation trial. |
