| Abstract/Contents: | "This evaluation was conducted at the Valentine Turfgrass Research Center, University Park, PA, on colonial bentgrass maintained under golf course fairway management conditions, at 0.5 inch cutting height. The test area was fertilized on 6 May and 14 Jun with 1.0 lb nitrogen per 1000 sq ft ((NH⁴)²SO⁴). Individual plots, 3 ft x 15 ft, were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Treatments were applied with a CO²-powered boom sprayer, using TeeJet 8004 nozzles, at 35 psi, in water equivalent to 2 gal per 1000 sq ft. Applications were made on 16 and 29 Jun, and 13 and 27 Jul; except as noted in the table. Brown patch was evaluated on 12 and 25 Jul. Data obtained were subjected to analysis of variance and Duncan's Multiple Range test. Disease pressure was heavy during June and July, and the natural infection that developed exhibited classic brown patch symptoms. Nineteen of the 24 fungicides and combinations evaluated provided excellent brown patch suppression under the conditions of this experiment." |
