Abstract/Contents:"One hundred and thirty-nine varieties of ryegrass have been described electrophoretically. The enzymes used were phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI), acid phosphatase (ACP) and isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH). The allelic frequencies of perennial and Italian ryegrass, both of diploid and tetraploid varieties, were produced. The two species differed by their mean allelic frequencies for all three enzymes tested. Diploid and tetraploid varieties had slightly different distributions especially for PGI among Italian ryegrasses."
