Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the mechanics of soil in filtering contaminants out of groundwater and the situations when groundwater contamination might occur. Explores the movement processes of a contaminant through soils and in groundwater, and the fate of a pesticide in soil, addressing pathways of pesticide loss, persistence, i.e., lifetime and activity of a pesticide, pesticide's sorptivity to soil materials, estimates pesticide losses, and pesticide selection and use. |
