Abstract/Contents: | Presents the results of insecticide evaluation for mole cricket control in turf. Two mole cricket experiments were conducted in 1975. In the first experiment at Gainesville, 250 plots measuring 10 X 10 ft. separated by 3 ft. borders were treated with candidate insecticidal baits. A second experiment was conducted at a Jacksonville golf course to substantiate results of the Gainesville trials and to determine the efficacy of Chlordance in the NE Florida area. Discusses the most effective materials and their application rates, and the effect of chlordane sepcifically. For most effective results, sprays and granules should be applied during June, July or August and baits during July or August. |
