Abstract/Contents: | Emphasizes the importance of checking the condition of trees with which a turf manager may have to deal. Includes specifics on the following issues of routine tree maintenance in regards to young and semi-mature trees: staking and tying, pruning and weed control. Discusses the maintenance of older, mature trees and emphasizes the importance of having them regularly inspected by a qualified individual. Relates how such inspections can lead to the detection of potential hazards or disease. Warns against treatments administered by staff not trained in aboriculture. |
