| Abstract/Contents: | "After reviewing options that included on-site treatment and discharge to a wastewater plant, the Metro Waste Authority decided to spray collected leachate onto compost windrows as a supplementary moisture source...once a landfill and compost facility are operating, there are few added costs to develop a leachate removal system...when a composting operation and a landfill are conveniently located together, using compost for leachate disposal make financial sense." |
