Abstract/Contents:"Fungicide treatments were evaluated on a golf course fairway at the Purdue University South Course, West Lafayette, IN. The turf area received conventional golf course care and was maintained at height of 1 to 1.25 in. The test area was fertilized with 4.5 lb N/1000 ft² per year. Treatments were applied to 3.3 x 6.6 ft plots arranged in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications. Treatments were applied with a hand held CO₂-pressurized sprayer with 11003 LP flat fan nozzles at 22 psi and at a rate of 2 gal/1000 sq ft. All treatments were first applied on 7 Jul. Additional applications for treatments with a 14-day interval were made on 22 Jul and 5 Aug. Treatments with a 21-day interval were sprayed again on 29 Jul. Treatments with a 28-day interval were sprayed again on 5 Aug. Treatments with a 42-day interval were sprayed again on 29 Jul. Applications were discontinued after 5 Aug. Turf quality was evaluated on 22 and 28 Jul and 5 and 19 Aug. Reduction in turf quality was the result of anthracnose damage. Temperatures were above normal in early Jul. Cooler than normal temperatures were experienced in mid and late Jul, and early and late Aug. Rainfall was above normal for periods from June to early Jul. Turf quality was better than normal. There were no differences among treatments in Aug. Anthracnose damage and environmental stress on the turf grass was reduced because of the above normal amounts of rainfall in early Jul to early Aug and cooler temperaturs in Aug. No phytotoxicity was observed."
