| Abstract/Contents: | "We conducted a greenhouse study with Meyer zoysiagrass to determine effects of irrigation frequency on rooting, leaf water potential and plant response to a subsequent drought...Quality did not differ between irrigation treatments...The ability of infrequently watered zoysiagrass to absorb water deep in the soil column also resulted in better turf quality late in dry-down than observed with frequently watered turf...Zoysiagrass that has been watered deeply and infrequently exhibited better quality scores during the recovery period...Irrigation frequency can also have a significant effect on turfgrass pest incidence, including turf diseases." |
