| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses some important aspects of superintendents' work maintaining the excellence of golf courses and keeping a balance when facing conflicting pressures. Topics addressed include: educating golfers about the challenges a superintendent faces to provide the best possible playing conditions, convincing golfers and club officials of the absurdity of trying to deliver championship conditions on a routine basis, making appropriate judgements on the Stimpmeter, and taking advantage of the resources of USGA to improve their work. |
