Abstract/Contents: | "Grasses are easy to grow, low maintenance, adaptable to a wide range of soil and climate conditions and are relatively pest and disease free. The color array ranges from every shade of green and blue to brilliant reds...Textures vary from glossy broad leaves to soft fuzzy foliage to stiff sharp spikes. Diverse grass forms and sizes enable grass to fit any landscape...There is a grass for every garden, for every habitat - water gardens, rock gardens, naturalized meadows, prairies, dunes, perennial borders, ground covers and hillsides...Grasses offer year round landscaping. Besides beauty, grasses swaying with the breeze add motion to a garden." Tables list 74 ornamental grass species with detailed description of features. |
