| Abstract/Contents: | The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of herbicide for control of crabgrass in Kentucky bluegrass. Pesticides were applied in variant rates and timing from April 18, 1993 through July 13, 1993. "All treatments had no turf injury observed. Where impregnated fertilizers were applied, color increased slightly over the control and non-fertilizer treatments. Anderson, Howard Johnson and Lebenon Fertilizers were impregnated with Dimension. Most treatments were holding up very well with control of large crabgrass ranging in the 80s and 90s. There were a few exceptions. Some of the lower rates of Dimension fertilizers had control of crabgrass drop into the 70s. A team fertilizer applied once at 2.0 lbs ai/A dropped into the 60s. MSMA and a tank mix of Dacthal/MSMA applied 1-3 leaf had control significantly less than most other treatments. All treatments were significantly better than the control. Control dropped off slightly with late season evaluations of crabgrass, however, most treatmens still remained in the 80s and 90s." |
