| Abstract/Contents: | The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of herbicide for control of crabgrass in Kentucky bluegrass. Herbicides were applied on June 29, 1993 and turfgrass was rated from July 6, 1993 through August 18, 1993. "No phyto was observed with any treatment. All treatments were significantly better than the control for crabgrass. Trimec Plus, D-Free Plus and BAS 514 gave significantly less control than Dimension and Acclaim for crabgrass control. Trimec Plus and D-Free Plus gave near perfect control of plantain, while Dimension, Acclaim and BAS 514 had no control of plantain. The MSMA portion of the premix products did not seem to work very well this year. We looked at MSMA in the Crabgrass Demonstration trial and the results were the same for crabgrass control. Daytime temperatures were very warm (mid to upper 80s) and perhaps this had some affect on the results." |
