| Abstract/Contents: | "The evaluations were conducted at a private golf course in Columbus, on an annual bluegrass and creeping bentgrass fairway established in 1969. The soil was a native clay subsoil (pH6.8). Turf was mowed at 0.5-in and irrigated as needed. The area was maintained with a fertilizer program of 3 lbs of N/1000 ft²/yr. Individual plots measuring 6 ft x 6 ft were arranged in a randomized complete block design and replicated three times. Treatments were applied with a hand-held, CO₂-powered boom sprayer using T-jet 8010 nozzles at 40 psi and a rate of 6 gal of water/1000ft₂. All treatments were applied on 4 May and 4 Jun and evaluated on 9 Aug. Average soil temperatures at 2-in depth for 4 May, 4 Jun and 9 Aug were 61.0, 59.6 and 76.4, respectively. Average high and low air temperatures (F) and rainfall (in), respectively, for each month of the test were: May 74.1, 49.2, 2.91; Jun 80.3, 59.3, 4.70; Jul 86.2, 66.4, 5.85; and Aug 86.9, 64.0, 5.35. Disease activity was moderate. Good control of summer patch was achieved with Fluazinam at the high rate and the combination of Danconil 2787 and ASC 67013. Rubigan, Eagle and RH-7592 + Latron also provided good control. There were no turfgrass color enhancements or changes with any of the treatments. No phytotoxicity was observed on any treatment." |
