Abstract/Contents:"Seven organic based fertilizers were evaluated for their effect on established Kentucky Bluegrass (Poa pratensis) turf. The fertilizers included poultry manure, sewage sludge and canola seed meal based products. The fertilizers were evaluated on their capability to increase growth, colour quality, density and percent grass cover. Clipping yields for the canola and urea combination fertilizers consistently produced highest amounts. Yields for the polymer coated and poultry manure did not yield high amounts indicating that neither sources released its nitrogen. Organic fertilizers by themselves generally produced a poor response in comparison to those that had some urea added."
