Abstract/Contents: | Many historic parks are being threatened in many ways, such as; ponds and watercourses stagnating, woodlands overgrown and littered, entryways, bridges and monuments have deteriorated. The government in many cases has run out of money to repair these parks, and in response, public-private partnership groups have been formed to help two historic parks in Connecticut; Hartford's Bushnell Park, and New Haven's Green. The group raised money publicly and privately, prepared plans for improvement, and carried out the plans. The restoration of these two historic parts are examples of successful public-private partnerships that are non-profit organizations. |
