Abstract/Contents:"Fungicides are often combined in mixtures... to widen the spectrum of antifungal activity to control several diseases occurring simultaneously in a crop; to exploit additive and synergistic interactions between fungicides, by which the overall activity is increased and the concentrations of the compounds can be reduced without the loss of activity; to delay the selection process of resistant individuals in a pathogen population to one component of the mixture... The oldest examples are copper salt mixtures and mixtures containing different dithiocarbonates with a broad spectrum of activity...... Mixtures containing such fungicides may provide better disease control than single components and, at the same time, reduce the risk of pathogens developing resistance."
