| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses turfgrass insect activity on residential lawns as reported by lawn maintenance firms for the year 1995. Specifies the following insects from most to least troublesome and comments on their activity: sod webworms, japanese beetles, european chafers, chinch bugs, billbugs, and turf scale. Advises the use of a test developed at Cornell University to determine the necessity for grub treatments on residential lawns. Relates methods and materials needed to obtain an accurate sample for testing. |
