Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the changes in pesticide use, irrigation, fertilization, and turf appearance over the years. In recent years, pesticide use has gone down considerably due to regulations. Integrated Pest Management is also being used more and more as an alternative to heavy chemical application. Instead of mass-applications of chemicals, most superintendents use spot treatments to rid the turf of unwanted pests and weeds, which is just one way that golf courses have become more concerned with the environment. |
