Abstract/Contents: | "The Lower Township Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA) opted to process its biosolids with lime stabilization rather than composting. The MUA, however, is counting on yard trimmings compost to boost the marketing of its lime stabilized product. The Authority has applied for a permit to compost about 800 tons annually of grass and leaves from Lower Township, shredding the material and placing it in windrows. When the compost is mature it will be mixed with lime stabilized biosolids (two to four dry tons/day), and solid in bags and bulk.... The lime stabilization plant is scheduled to come on line by July, 1997. Timing of the composting operation depends on the permitting process." |
