| Abstract/Contents: | Lists the many positive attributes of zoysiagrass, "a warm-season, drought-tolerant grass which requires less fertilizer and mowing than most other turfgrasses." Also cites some negative qualities which may be preventing a more widespread use of zoysiagrass. Relates the results of field tests done to determine the suitability of 28 zoysiagrass cultivars for use in California's Central Coast Region. Relates methods and material used in the field tests and provides tables which reveal ratings for the cultivars in the following categories: color, density and overall quality. |
