Abstract/Contents:Discusses the less common turf-culture practice of rolling and addresses the problems that the practice was thought to have wrought, as well as the favorable aspects perceived by golfers such as ball speed. Includes the combined summaries of five research projects that were launched to answer the questions presented by rolling. The summaries address: basic rolling effect, rolling effect duration, turf roller weight, diurnal rolling response, single vs. multiple rollers, rolling interval effects, roller operational effects, turf effects, disease and moss responses, root zone effects and enhanced surface smoothness.
