Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the herbicide dichlobenil. Dichlobenil "is used to kill unwanted weeds in shrub beds, orchards, and berry fields." Lists side effects that affected hamsters, rats, and rabbits. Side effects include: damage to the nasal tissue, less successful reproduction as well as more birth defects, and increased frequency of cancer. "Dichlobenil is 'remarkably persistent' in soil and residues have been measured five years after application." Lists side effects that were found on humans after they came in contact with dichlobenil. Also lists other environmental side effects. |
