Abstract/Contents:Discusses recent research that has been undertaken to optimize washed sod. Describes the pre-1996 experiments that took place at the University of Rhode Island as well as the results of those experiments. Explains that the experiments focused on soil amendments, fertility, topdressing, surfactant, and wear stress management effects on washed sod. Further discusses that aerification with and without topdressing is a key treatment that has yet to be investigated.
